1. chanticleer:
   One of the few American vocal ensembles that can perform early reneissance music from the English, Flemmish, and Portugese schools with a degree of authenticity. I'm not keen on Jenning's interpretations on chant, but they are otherwise excellent. I'm particularly fond of their own jazz arrangements like Willow weep for me or their Appalachian song book pieces by Jefferson and Billings.
2. creed:
   OK, so some people hate them but I like some of their stuff. Bullets is a particular "rock anthem" fave of mine.
3. eurocopter:
   EC 125 and EC 135 are the 2 Eurocopter machines I'm type-rated to fly. I'm off to Heli-Tech the week after next and I went with a friend called Simon Hill to the International Heli Meet last month as part of his team. Eurocopter are the consortium led by BAe and Aerospatiale after they developed the Puma and they make arguably the best and most reliable helicopters on the market. The US Coastguard use the Dauphin extensively, and the UK police forces now use the EC135, and that is a fantastic machine to fly! Sight seeres to places like hawaii and the Grand Canyon have probably been in the A-Star, which is the version built under licence in the US.
4. hacketts:
   I live out of their shops (when I can afford it). Essential British Kit at it's best!
5. liturgical music:
   I'm a fan of the English, Flemmish, and Portugese schools of music of the 16th Century. My favourite composers are Byrd, Talliss, and Victoria. Some of the more modern music also has it's appeal but I can't say I'm a huge fan of the music composed for the CofE by the likes of Howells Stanford et al, it has no appeal to me. There is a fantastic revival of good latin music by the likes of Leo Nestor and Julian Wackner that is making up for the durge of the 1970's.
6. new metal:
   I got into new metal as "angst music", and it's what I listen to most. Not just the Linkin Parks of this world, but also Disturbed, Soil, KoRn and others. Maybe not necessarily all the "new metal" genre, but if I like it, I listen to it.
7. politically incorrect:
   Because I am. Stop being such a liberal pussy, accept that the dead are not the "life challenged", we aren't all created equal, and I don't respect you until respect is earned.
8. sacred music:
   A different turn of phrase to liturgical music.
9. the cardinal's musicke:
   The world's finest vocal ensemble for early English music anywhere! OK, so Carwood shares many of his singers with the Sixteen, Talliss Scholars, Hilliard Ensemble, The Parly of Voices, The Clerkes Group, and the Gabrielli Consort, but I still think Skinner's editions of Byrd are the finest ever written and recorded.
10. weapons:
    I'm a soldier and I'm interested in the means of ensuring I win and you don't, or in other words, I live and you die. I'm reading a book called "Winning the war" by Col, John B Alexander at the moment. It's a great read because in his chapter on non-lethal weapons he has personally tested everything he writes about. Any book where the author has voluntarily been on the receiving end of Tasers, lasers, CS and Pepper spray and more besides in the name of research (I call it stupidity myself, but then I know the difference between bravery and stupidity) has to be a good read!
